The Peruvian films “Generación con Causa (Generation with a Cause)”, “Peru, el país más rico del mundo (Peru, the richest country on earth)” and “Voyager Colors of Peru” took awards at the 11th International Festival of Touristic Film “Tourfilm Riga 2018”. The event aims to display and give awards to the best audiovisual products and touristic films.
During the award ceremony, which took place on 27 April in the city of Riga, Lithuania, “Generación con Causa” and “Peru, el país más rico del mundo” came first and second respectively in the Tourist Destination – Country category. “Voyager Colors of Peru” came second in the Cultural Tourism category.
An international jury was responsible for evaluating the idea and its creativity as well as the means of visual expression for each film, choosing the best films from seven categories: Tourist Destination (city, country, regions), Cultural Tourism, Ecotourism, Adventure Tourism, Touristic Services, Lithuanian Tourism Product, and Events, Exhibitions and Congresses.
476 tourism-related short films from 72 countries were submitted to the Tourfilm Riga, which was supported by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), which presented films nominated at national tourism festivals in other countries.
This event has been held since 2008 in the city of Riga and is organized by the city’s Town Council.

A 90-minute television series divided into three episodes showing the most interesting cultural, urban and tourist activities that Peru has to offer, which will be then distributed worldwide. In Peru, the titles were 'Lima, capital by the sea', 'Lima, city with an urban scene' and 'Iquitos'.
