Ramón: the international collaboration exploring Junín and Lima
Peruvian film will show a unique and little-explored wealth of one of the most enigmatic places in the country.
Renowned Peruvian actor and director Salvador del Solar is directing his new project "Ramón," which is being produced by Tondero and "El Deseo," the production company of acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar.
Starring in this feature film are Darío Yazbek (Mexico), Álvaro Cervantes (Spain), and Emanuel Soriano (Peru). The film follows "Ramón" (Emanuel Soriano), a man who seeks to reconcile with his Peruvian roots following the death of his father, with whom he did not have a particularly good relationship.

MAIN LOCATIONS
The production took place in the regions of Lima and Junín, exploring traditions, landscapes, and benefiting from all logistical facilities for filming. In Lima, the selected districts were Miraflores, where Ramón currently lives, and Los Olivos, where the protagonist's childhood unfolds.
On the other hand, the narrative also unfolds in the town of Mito, in the province of Concepción, Junín. Mito plays a crucial role in the story as Ramón returns there during the pandemic to scatter his father's ashes, embarking on a journey of forgiveness and redemption. Along the way, he meets Mateo (Álvaro Cervantes), a Spaniard stranded in Peru due to border closures; together they embark on an emotional journey.
This film offers a transition of landscapes between Lima and Junín, showcasing a diversity of unique locations that highlight the beauty and variety of the surroundings, sparking interest in exploring these places among the audience.

LA HUACONADA
An important Peruvian cultural component in this film is the festival of La Huaconada, which serves not only as a backdrop but also as a central theme in the storyline. This ritual dance represents themes such as punishment, symbolized by whipping, and forgiveness, represented by embracing, as well as the mysticism passed down through generations.
In addition to featuring the festival, the film incorporates elements such as a workshop for crafting huacones masks, providing viewers with a deeper immersion into the craftsmanship behind this deeply rooted cultural celebration.
