Peru’s grand debut at Mipcom
In their first appearance at the Cannes market, the Peruvian delegation received excellent results including recognition and closed sales, revealed PromPeru.
Promperu, the Peruvian Commission for Exports and Tourism, took ten companies to the Mipcom 2017 venue for the first time.
Once the market was over, the delegation gave very positive reviews. “Peru was able to make key business contacts with international business people opening up a wide range of possibilities for purchasing, coproduction and carrying out future projects with major opportunities for investment”, said PromPeru staff.
It was revealed at Mipcom that the co-production Siesta Z had been nominated in the Kids Animation category of the International Kids Emmy. It was produced by Red Animation, a Peruvian/Brazilian company led by producers Milton Guerrero and Sabrina Bogado.
Siesta Z is currently broadcast in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Argentina and another 30 counties in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe.
FLI International, a company led by Miki Ivcher, celebrated the sale of 3,500 hours of air time on Frecuencia Latina from Cadena Ser in the US. It also sold the film “La peor de mis bodas (My worst wedding)” to the platforms Blim and Cine Latino.
Meanwhile Tondero Distribución, Tondero Films’ commercial division, led by Cecilia Gómez de la Torre, announced the upcoming distribution of the Peruvian film Juego Siniestro (Sinister Game) in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile and Central America through a distribution contract with Netminds Media Group.
“Our objective has been to present Peru as a viable alternative for audiovisual production in general, as well as displaying the stunning and varied locations our country possesses. I’m certain that we’ve achieved this; every businessperson has been stunned by what they saw”, said Mariella Soldi, subdirector of PromPeru’s Marca País (Country Brand).
Soldi added that in Peru there are companies that offer high quality audiovisual products and services from talented people, at highly competitive prices and that meet international standards.
The following Peruvian audiovisual and digital content creation and marketing companies were present at Mipcom 2017: América Televisión, Tondero Distribución, Transversal Films, Frecuencia Latina Internacional (FLI), Red Animation, 111 Producciones, Rayo en la Botella, Makaco, Alligator and Quechua Films.
