Big launch of the Peruvian audiovisual industry at MIPCOM
For the first time at Cannes, the Peruvian audiovisual industry took part with its own stand that brought together nine companies, including production companies, distributors and service providers who were able to close major deals.
Supported by PromPeru, the Ministry for Overseas Trade and Tourism’s specialist technical body responsible for supporting the country internationally, the Peruvian delegation presented new series, feature length films, VR/AR content, animation and above all highlighted the country’s competitive advantages for audiovisual production: cost, locations and climate.
Mariella Soldi, subdirector of PromPeru’s Marca País (Country Brand) states: “The objective of our participation was to present Peru as a viable alternative for audiovisual production in general, as well as showcasing the varied and stunning landscapes our country has to offer. I’m certain that we’ve achieved this.”
Soldi added that in Peru there are companies that offer high quality audiovisual products and services from talented people, at highly competitive prices and that meet international standards.
Amongst the big announcements at the event was the Emmy nomination for Siesta Z in the Kids Animation category which will be presented in April 2018.
