"La Herencia de Flora" (Flora's legacy), a film about the legacy of writer Flora Tristán, set in the 19th century and directed by Augusto Tamayo, was filmed in various locations, including Arequipa, Lima, Callao, and France. The film showcases Arequipa's architecture during the early days of the Republic.
"Redención" (Redemption), directed by Miguel Barreda, tells part of the story of Sister Ana de los Ángeles, a resident of the Santa Catalina Convent, which served as the film's mystical setting. Additionally, "Naira," directed by Gabriela Quiroz, will soon be released. This film features the breathtaking landscapes of the Colca Canyon as the backdrop for a magical story steeped in Andean spirit.
