The incredible Peruvian settings in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Peru in the eyes of the world! The movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will premiere this June 7th in cinemas in our country, the filming of which, for the most part, took place in Cusco and San Martín.
This new delivery, directed by Steven Caplen Jr., tells the enormous battle between the Autobots and the Maximals against the ruthless Terrorcons. For this, different attractions of Cusco and San Martín, such as Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuamán, the Ahuashiyacu waterfalls, among others, were used.
For each of the locations used, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ- Comisión de Promoción del Perú para la Exportación y el Turismo) articulated and/or managed with different government institutions, the corresponding filming authorizations and provided continuous support to the production team, to guarantee an adequate experience.
“It is the first time in years that logistics of this magnitude has been conducted, which is why the coordinated work with public institutions such as Foreign Affairs, regional governments, provincial municipalities, among others, was very important,” said Ricardo Limo, Executive President of PROMPERÚ.
Peru, a history of great productions
In the last two years, large international film houses have seen Peru as an attractive destination for film locations, and this is reflected in the feature films, short films, series and documentaries that were filmed in our country, such as La Reina del Sur (The Queen of the South), Don't Look Up, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, among others.
All audiovisual productions had the continuous support of Promperú through its Film in Peru strategy, also offering them an unforgettable filming experience.
