Many of these tourist attractions have been locations for important national feature films,

Historic Sanctuary of the Pampa de Ayacucho, Quinua
This is the main setting of the Battle of Ayacucho, where the natural and historical heritage of this independence conflict is preserved, as well as the artisanal and cultural expressions of the surrounding communities. The site is located on an elevated plain with a certain slope, which houses the monument erected in memory of the fallen heroes. It is also a natural lookout point from which one can observe the beautiful landscapes of the Ayacucho
countryside. The Sanctuary and the town of Quinua are located 37 km from the city of Ayacucho. From Lima, the region is at about 8 hours via the famous Los Libertadores Wari highway (562 km paved).

Turquoise Waters of Millpu
Situated in the rural community of Circamarca, district of Huancaraylla, province of Víctor Fajardo, at 3600 m.a.s.l. (meters above sea level) and about 125 km from the city of Huamanga. Its turquoise waters come from natural pools along the canyon, exhibiting an intense turquoise hue from May to August due to the mineral content of the rocks at theriverbed. There are around 20 natural pools surrounded by the stunning vegetation of the Peruvian highlands.

Cathedral of Ayacucho
This tourist attraction is in the monumental zone of Ayacucho, in front of its Plaza Mayor. Built in the 17th century, it is one of the most beautiful religious establishments in southern Peru. Its construction was conducted exclusively with stone as the structural material.
Although some areas of the temple may appear to be made of simpler materials, this is merely a simulation that adds artistic value to the design. Architecturally, the cathedral is built on a platform. One of its most important features is the Main Altar, a Baroque-style work of art plated in gold, with considerable dimensions distributed across three tiers and five sections.
